Fall Home Maintenance Safety Tips

Here it comes…
You may not feel it yet, but that “Brrrrr!” is about to make a comeback. You know what that means: fall home maintenance season is about to be in full swing! It’s time to finish and wrap up summer projects, and begin the arduous task of readying your home and lawn for the coming winter. There’s so much to do! Of course, whatever you do, you want to make sure that you and any helpers are able to  keep yourselves safe in the process. That’s why we’ve put together this list of 5 fall home maintenance safety tips.

1)  Check home fire extinguishers and replace any that have expired.

2) Change and test batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors on November 1st, daylight savings time.

3)   Always clear your driveway and walkways of leaves, as they are often slippery when wet.

4)   Wear work gloves when doing outdoor work for maximum protection.

5)  Exercise extra caution when climbing ladders for fall projects, such as cleaning gutters or repairing windows. It’s not uncommon for shoes or boots that have become wet to cause you to slip and potentially fall as you climb the ladder.
